Beastkin
"The term “Beastkin” along with Wildblood, and Clawfolk do not describe any specific peoples. In fact, these monikers are little more than marks of common and widespread ignorance. Ask a member of the Canus people, with their long snouts, wet noses, and rough coats of fur what they call themselves, and you are more likely to hear their names, like Ruphus, Balto, or Grinta. Ask a cat eyed clawfolk, and they might glare as their coats ruffle with displeasure, and their tail swishes back and forth. A hiss, or a huff all they care to tell you before they stalk away. These catch-all terms, while useful for the sake of brevity and expediency in high stress situations, do a disservice to all those who fall under their moniker. Yet, they...
Devahni
It is said, as it is written. The Deva are of the most ancient empire. Their splendor, won by blood. A people who had spread their roots across the whole of the known world. From Ilica to Suldaza. Cities that shined. Cities that sang. Their lives as long as the Ring itself. All turned to ash. The most ancient empire fell to ruin. Picked over by those who came out from its own hubris. Scattered to the wind by humans and elves, and all else who wished to cast off their timeless yoke. Now many see the Deva as but shadows of what once was. Closer to the road and trail than any tail of long lost splendor. They are a people set adrift. More at home on the move, than any one place for too long. From mercenary companies, to traveling...
Dwarves
Traditionally believed to have been born from the mountain range known as the Fingers of the Father in a mythical event prior to the Age of Antiquity, Dwarves are a people summarized by the saying, “From stone to stone.” A deeply proud people of craftsfolk, artisans, and warriors, the Dwarven forges have become the stuff of legends. Fueled by the petrified remains of elder Dwarves, popular folklore suggests that Dwarven accouterments contain the ancestral soul of their people. Notably, rumors speak of the creation of the ruler’s crown and how it may contain the remains of the first Dwarven lord. Dwarven culture emphasizes this pride in self and in ancestors, placing a high value on age, wisdom, and tradition as a result. Culturally...
Elves
An intensely magical race of ethereal beauty, the Elves generally consider themselves to be a race perfected. While there are indeed those among their kind who shun this obsession over purity and the survival of the fittest, most of their race keeps to themselves within the forests and plains of Suldaza (or as they prefer to call it, Saldaesa). There, amongst their own kin, the Hundred Houses of the Elves, and their nobles and warriors are locked in an eternal spring and autumn of petty battles and squabbles over territory and prestige, often at the expense of the commonfolk and the landborn.
Orkin
The orkin began as nomadic peoples, hunters, shepherds and seafarers who journeyed to every corner of the land. Their histories from this early time tell of fabled heroes and powerful sages, those who rose above the fetters of the world to reach a state of sublimity. This sense of freedom and adventure still persists in the orkish zeitgeist, even as many tribes fixed themselves into settled places.
