From the various diaries of Maria the Maungy Mage, shown on the left, this is all that she has ever written about Aysel other than the numbers used to score her learning:

"On my journey toward Hermit's Peak in Lapvona, I came across a village of Reyk that had hidden itself from the Covenents for many years. It was hardly a village, made up of a few families with children who never wandered far. They were gracious in taking me in, seeing me as a Reyk like themselves, and offering me food and shelter. A blizzard had burgeoned behind me, and at night, the winds roared and screamed. I could hear wolves howling. I found it to be strange.
"The family that took me in was generous despite the wife being pregnant with their fifth child. All the children were well-behaved and easily appeased with stories of my travels and a few simple magic tricks. There was something in their eyes that was feral, an indelible aura of an untamed beast that only showed itself when I wasn't looking. I was suspicious of them but couldn't prove anything, even after the pregnant woman, Aysel, bragged that the child would be born on the full Beast moon.
"When the blizzard had ended, I continued on my way to Hermit's Peak. I did not know that the massive shroud stone at the peak kept the peoples of Lapvona safe from Eclipse Sickness. If I had known, I never would have carved out that chunk for my staff. When I headed back down the mountain, I stopped at the village. All the villagers were overcome with Eclipse Sickness and will ill. Half transformed and half rotting, I realized my suspicions were correct.
"These families had the blood curse of lycanthropy running through their veins, passed onto their offspring. It amazed me as much as it disgusted me that they bred like the very animals they turned it. I searched for Aysel, to see the fate of a mother who fell victim to the eclipse, but she had been correct. She had given birth on a Beast Full Moon, before the eclipse had taken place. I checked the whites of the babe's eyes; they were not black like all the others.
"I did consider putting her out of her misery. She screamed so loudly when I had picked her up, hands waving and feet kicking. She kept turning her head, crying louder and louder despite her weakened state. But then I realized the opportunity before me. A werewolf from birth, not from bite, would be a good pet to have. A strong ally in the future, someone who could be on the front line and give me time in the back to unleash my spells. So, I took the pup with me and named her Aysel to keep her lineage going in some way.
"I gave her goat's milk and wrapped her in furs, held her close to my chest, and stroked her cheek like a mother would until she finally shut up. When she did quiet down and her face was no longer red from screaming, I took her back to the Den with me. My three-year journey had ended, and I wouldn't leave the Drakhorn Den until she was four and potty trained. Her battle training began at five, when she could easily shift into a wolf without breaking her bones. At six, she proved to me that she was useful and that I hadn't made the wrong choice. At seven, I branded her with a collar of runes.
"No matter where Aysel goes, she will always come back to me. After all, she owes me her life. If only it made her less stubborn."
Appearance
Height 5'6
Build Slender
Hair Black
Eyes Gray
Aysel keeps her black hair short with blunt bangs an inch above her brows, so they do not detract from her line of sight. She has fair skin and gray eyes. Her lips are small and thin but well-defined. Her nose is long and straight with a soft bridge. Overall, her features work well together to show the profound thinker that she is. It also helps her express her irritation when things do not go her way; her dark brows narrowing down onto her eyes make her look far more frightening than if she had rounded, soft features. She is often made fun of for having big, wide feet despite not being extraordinarily tall.
When Aysel transforms into a werewolf, she is taller and her body ripples with lean muscle. Her coat is uneven in length, with more fur and fluff around her neck, chest, forearms, and thighs. Her midsection and face have much shorter, quite shiny fur. Her ears appear hairless until one takes a closer look. Sharp teeth and claws; she can also stand up and walk like a 7-foot-tall human or run on all fours.
Personality
At a glance, Aysel appears to be serious, somber, solemn, stubborn and sullen.
Upon getting to know her, many would label her as: alert, athletic, surprisingly energetic, intelligent, keen, loyal, responsive, and tenacious.
Her mentor knows her to be quite the bully, as she is also aggressive, anxious, bossy, impatient, prone to biting, and, overall, quite a jerk to others who don't listen to her. Struggles to understand the word 'no.' Will not back down unless a more dominant personality makes her step back in line, like her mentor.

Skills
Quite handy in a fight, Aysel is stronger and faster than she looks. She has excellent senses —her hearing and sense of smell shocking many with how she knows whether something is poisonous or which critter is making that rustle in the bushes. She is quick and nimble and quite hardy against the elements and various terrains she finds herself in. Very good at jumping and at guessing others' next move.
Aysel is slightly literate, but writing stresses her out when her letters are not equal, so she tends to forgo her mentor's suggestion to write in a diary. She is a decent cook, but when she falls in love with a recipe, she will rarely make anything else and will throw a tantrum if they runs out of ingredients for that recipe.
No good with magic, most werewolves aren't. Because of this, she heals as fast as regular humans do, and it is to her detriment that this is the case. It means she must be much more careful when she has shifted because her human body is half as hardy.
